The Battle Ground Public Schools board will hold a meeting at 4 p.m. today to screen applicants for a vacant board seat.

By late Wednesday, the district reported four candidates had applied to replace recently retired member Karen Lehman. Among them are Kenneth Root and John Fitzgerald; names of the other hopefuls were not available.

The board will convene in the CASEE-A board room, 11104 N.E. 149th St.

Members will discuss candidate qualifications, then move into a closed executive session to interview each applicant. A general discussion on the process may follow, prior to adjournment.

An appointment is expected when the board meets April 30.
