For more than two years I’ve been commuting to my job in Vancouver using a stretch of North Blandford Drive. Throughout this period I have seen the intentional dumping of literally hundreds of pieces of trash, cases of empty beer bottles and loads of paper (mostly stripped-out pieces of real-estate guides). This dumping almost always occurs midweek, probably in the evening or early-morning hours.
On Wednesday morning, the amount of intentionally discarded material was incredible. Sheets of paper, napkins, real estate guides, all strewn along the entire stretch of Blandford Drive. I cannot believe that the Vancouver Police or other city authorities haven’t noticed the pattern, nor has anyone bothered to set up any form of surveillance to catch the criminal doing this intentional trashing. Some sick person is behind this activity and obviously has some sick agenda and message to display.
But what I believe is truly sad, is that after all this time, little attention is being given by city authorities to put an end to this consistent and cyclical problem.
