INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) — Liberian Freighter defeated Ryehill Dreamer by a half-length to win Sunday’s $98,000 Inglewood Handicap at Hollywood Park.

Ridden by Martin Garcia, Liberian Freighter ran 1 1-16 miles on the turf in 1:39.70 and paid $9.40 and $4.

Ryehill Dreamer returned $4.60, while The Usual Q.T. was another neck back in third. There was no show wagering after Honour the Deputy and Kelly Leak were scratched, reducing the field to four.

Liberian Freighter won for the fifth time in nine starts on Hollywood Park’s turf course. Overall, it was his 10th win in 27 career starts and increased his career earnings to $733,740.

Liberian Freighter won 15 days after taking the Arcadia Stakes across town at Santa Anita. The 6-year-old gelding is co-owned by Shawn Dugan, the wife of Hall of Fame trainer Neil Drysdale.
