PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — An Oregon man has surrendered to police after another man was stabbed at a remote campsite in Clatsop County last weekend.

The Oregonian reports (http://bit.ly/nqBPmg ) that 26-year-old Scott Robert Brandon of Portland surrendered to Oregon State Police on Monday in Portland.

Brandon and the victim, 30-year-old Jeremy Daniel Peat of Gresham, were part of a group of about 50 people camping off Wolf Creek Road last Saturday.

An argument apparently led to a confrontation, and Peat was stabbed in the abdomen with what a witness said was a bayonet. Peat was being treated at a Portland-area hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.

State police said Brandon was booked in the Clackamas County Jail on assault charges pending transfer to Clatsop County. No attorney was listed for him on the jail’s website.
