MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) — An Oregon man hospitalized in critical condition the past three weeks with smoke inhalation has been arraigned on aggravated murder charges in the slayings of his wife and four young children.
Jordan Adam Criado entered no plea Friday during a hearing in Jackson County Circuit Court.
He was in a wheelchair and appeared by video from the jail, slumped forward, his hair disheveled.
Speaking softly, he asked for an attorney and to speak to his pastor.
Judge Lorenzo Mejia (muh-HE-ah) ordered him held without bail.
He’s accused of stabbing his wife, Tabasha Paige-Criado, multiple times. Two of the children were stabbed, and all suffered smoke inhalation before firefighters dragged them from their burning house.
