SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — A person with knowledge of the negotiations says the San Francisco 49ers have agreed to terms on a one-year contract to bring back free agent safety Dashon Goldson.
The person spoke on condition of anonymity to The Associated Press on Monday because the deal had yet to be formally announced.
Goldson played his first four NFL seasons with the 49ers, finishing with 80 tackles, one sack and an interception in 2011.
Last week, San Francisco signed safety Donte Whitner — so, bringing back Goldson gives new coach Jim Harbaugh an experienced tandem in what is shaping up as a deep secondary.
