SEATTLE (AP) — The Seattle City Council is holding a public hearing Wednesday afternoon on a proposed $80 increase in the car tab fee to help pay for roads and transit.

KIRO-FM reports (http://bit.ly/nzVA8s ) Councilwoman Jean Godden is offering an amendment to cut the increase in half. And, the majority of the money would be spent on road repair, rather than on transit.
