CLEVELAND (AP) — Infielder Alexi Casilla is headed back to the Minnesota Twins’ disabled list with a strained right hamstring.
Manager Ron Gardenhire said that Casilla had difficulty running Saturday when the second baseman tested his legs before the Twins played the Cleveland Indians.
The Twins were scrambling to get somebody to Cleveland to fill in for Casilla, who was activated Friday but hurt his hamstring trying to beat out a bunt during Minnesota’s 3-2 loss.
Casilla, hitting .260 with two homers and 21 RBIs in 97 games, had been sidelined since July 28 with the injury.
The Twins have had 20 different players go to the disabled list this season.
