ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Records show New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo used state aircraft for flights to or from his girlfriend’s house, where he lives, following statewide tours in which he called for belt-tightening and budget cuts.

Records obtained by The Associated Press under the state Freedom of Information Law show Cuomo used a state plane and helicopter to return to suburban Westchester County at the end of statewide tours more than a dozen times from when he took office in January through June.

The state plane was then flown from Westchester to Albany, the capital, to return it to the Albany hangar as required.

Cuomo spokesman Josh Vlasto said Cuomo uses the aircraft only for “official events” and they include trips to the Westchester home of his girlfriend, Food Network star Sandra Lee.
