Dodgers vendor won’t get quick contract decision

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) — A Delaware bankruptcy judge has denied a request by a Dodger Stadium souvenir vendor to force the Los Angeles Dodgers to decide quickly whether the team will maintain its contract.

Facility Merchandising Inc. argued that before it makes any more royalty payments to the Dodgers for this year and inventory purchases for next season, it needs to know if the team will maintain an exclusive contract with FMI that runs through 2017.

The Dodgers say FMI has refused to comply with contract terms, and it would be unfair to force the team to decide before its reorganization plan is set and whether it wants to keep or reject the contract.
