It’s not yet clear whether shifts at Hewlett-Packard Co. might ultimately affect the company’s Clark County operations.
Hewlett-Packard maintains a portion of its printer research and marketing operations in Vancouver, though the company will not disclose how many people work there.
In its earnings report Thursday, HP said its Imaging and Printing Group revenue declined 1 percent, year over year. Commercial printer revenue was down 7 percent, and consumer printer hardware revenue was up 1 percent as unit sales climbed. The division continued to focus on digital presses and web-connected printers, and appears to still have a role in HP’s future.
Companywide, HP reported an increase in its third-quarter profits on Thursday. The company earned $1.93 billion, or 93 cents per share, in the three months ending July 31. That’s up 9 percent from a profit of $1.77 billion, or 75 cent per share, a year earlier.
