I believe Kay Nicely’s Aug. 13 letter, “Choice of participants skews poll,” is on the correct path regarding the AARP poll on options to reduce nation’s debt. To justify spending money, there must be a demand. However, I have to wonder: Do they no longer teach that polls are used to create demand? A properly worded poll will produce any result that is wanted. Polls are generally about spending other people’s money without suffering accountability.
