OXFORD, Miss. (AP) — Mississippi quarterback Randall Mackey has been arrested for disorderly conduct.
Records at the Lafayette County Detention Center show Mackey was arrested by the Oxford Police Department at 12:26 a.m. Tuesday morning and charged with disorderly failure to comply. He was released on a cash bond at about 9 a.m.
The 5-foot-11, 195-pound junior is fighting for the starting job along with sophomore Barry Brunetti and junior Zack Stoudt. Mackey redshirted last season with the Rebels after being named an All-American at East Mississippi Community College in 2009, throwing for 3,122 yards and 32 touchdowns during his sophomore season.
Coach Houston Nutt did not immediately return a message seeking comment. An Ole Miss spokesman says Nutt will address the issue after Tuesday’s practice.
