NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) — Czech qualifier Petra Cetkovska upset French Open champion Li Na in a dramatic third-set tiebreaker to reach the final of the New Haven Open, the final WTA tuneup before next week’s U.S. Open.

Cetkovska, ranked No. 40, won 6-2, 5-7, 7-6 (9) on her fifth match point. She will play the winner of Friday night’s other semifinal between three-time defending champion Caroline Wozniacki and third-seeded Francesca Schiavone.

Cetkovska led 3-1 in the second set and 3-0 in the third. But Li fought back, saving her first match point to make it 5-5 in the third and saving three more in the tiebreaker. But the Chinese star, ranked No. 7, failed to convert on two match points of her own.
