VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) — Clark County sheriff’s deputies believe a 26-year-old Vancouver man had been drinking and was speeding when his car failed to make a turn, ran into a yard, hit a 3-year-old boy and crashed into a garage.

The boy was taken to Peace Health Southwest Medical Center on Sunday evening in stable condition.

The driver ran from the scene and was arrested about six blocks away for investigation of vehicular assault and hit-and-run.
