Florida State handles Charleston Southern 76-61

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Okaro White scored a career-high 20 points and added seven rebounds as Florida State halted a three-game losing streak with a 76-51 win over Charleston Southern on Monday night.

Michael Snaer scored 13 points, while Bernard James and Xavier Gibson each had 12 points for the Seminoles (6-3).

Saah Nimley and Kelvin Martin had 13 points apiece for Charleston Southern (5-3), which shot just 29.8 percent (17 of 57) from the floor.

FSU used an early 20-2 run to grab a 25-7 lead. The Seminoles led 45-18 at halftime, scoring more points in 20 minutes than they did in a 46-41 loss to Harvard on Nov. 25.

Charleston Southern had more turnovers in the first half (11) than baskets (five). The Buccaneers managed just 18 first-half points two nights after rolling to a 114-81 win over VMI.

Florida State made 48.4 percent (30 of 62) of its shots.
