The Vancouver man who was seriously burned in a car crash Dec. 3, was still in critical condition Tuesday at Legacy Oregon Burn Center in Portland.

Brian J. Hall, 22, was sent to the hospital with serious injuries after his BMW hit a utility pole at McLoughlin and Grand boulevards about 2 a.m. that Saturday. Hall’s car was on fire when nearby resident James Bray rushed to the scene and pulled him from the car with the help of a few others.

When firefighters arrived at the crash, the car was fully involved. The driver “would not have survived if he had not been pulled out,” said Capt. David James, fire department spokesman.
