Girls basketball: Ridgefield 38, Washougal 34

Jessica Shaffer’s three-point play in the final two minutes give Ridgefield its first lead of the second half as the Spudders held on for a non-league road win.

After a big second quarter gave Washougal a 20-16 halftime lead, the Panthers led most of the second half until Lizze Vance’s steal and basket tied the game with three minutes to play.

Shaffer’s 3-point play put Ridgefield ahead, and Brooke Kates sealed the win with a couple of free throws.

Shannon Boyle led the balance scoring attack for the Spudders (3-6) with eight points. Kendall Utter led Washougal with 15.
