NEW YORK (AP) — Dahlgren Chapel held off Eltish Star by 114 lengths in Thursday’s $44,000 allowance feature at Aqueduct.
The 4-year-old trained by Kiaran McLaughlin posted his third win in the last four starts. Eddie Castro was aboard as he ran the six furlongs in 1:10.55, improving to 4 for 11.
Dahlgren Chapel paid $17.40, $6.60 and $2.70. Eltish Star returned $4.20 and $2.20. Sunrise Smarty, the 1-2 favorite, took a bump at the start and was later forced to alter course. He settled for third, paying $2.10.
