Here is a press release from the office of U.S. Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler:

Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler today announced the time, location and format for the upcoming Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Meeting in Southwest Washington facilitated by Committee Chairman U.S. Rep. John L. Mica (R-FL).

Herrera Beutler, a Member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, requested the Southwest Washington meeting in light of the upcoming transportation reauthorization bill — legislation scheduled for 2011 that would authorize funding for the federal share of the nation’s infrastructure projects.

“This session gives us a tremendous opportunity to make Southwest Washington’s transportation-related ideas and challenges known to Congress,” said Herrera Beutler. “I’m pleased that Chairman Mica is coming to Vancouver to receive the input of a diverse range of local transportation stakeholders and experts, and that he’s making time for open dialogue with the folks of Southwest Washington. Our region’s future economic growth and job creation will require an efficient and well-maintained transportation system.”
