Marshall edges Tulane 79-75 in overtime

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — DeAndre Kane scored 20 points, including the go-ahead 3-pointer in the final minute, and Marshall defeated Tulane 79-75 in overtime on Saturday night.

Kane hit a 3-pointer to give the Thundering Herd a 76-75 lead with 43 seconds left in overtime, then added two free throws with 3 seconds remaining to seal the win.

Tirrell Baines added 14 points, Nigel Spikes had 12 points and 13 rebounds, and Dago Pena had 12 points for the Thundering Herd (18-9, 6-6 Conference USA), who have won three consecutive games.

Tulane’s Trent Rogers hit two free throws with 1 second remaining in regulation to send the game into overtime. Both teams shot 31 free throws, but Marshall made 23 compared to 17 for Tulane.

Kendall Timmons scored 15 points, David Booker added 14, Kris Richard had 12 and Jordan Callahan 10 for the Green Wave (12-14, 2-11), who have lost 11 games in a row.
