NASHVILLE, Tennessee (AP) — Nashville Predators defenseman Ryan Suter was injured late in the second period against the Phoenix Coyotes on Saturday night.

The team announced Suter had an upper-body injury and would not return.

With 26 seconds remaining in the period, Suter took a hit from Phoenix captain Shane Doan in the left corner of the Nashville zone. Following the hit, play continued for a few seconds before Suter was assessed a minor penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct. He went to the Nashville locker room and did not serve the penalty.
