Stephen F. Austin beats Texas State 73-70 in OT

NACOGDOCHES, Texas (AP) — Darius Gardner hit a 3-pointer with four seconds remaining in overtime to give Stephen F. Austin a 73-70 victory against Texas State on Saturday.

Jereal Scott had 30 points and nine rebounds for the Lumberjacks (16-8, 7-5 Southland Conference) and forced the extra period with a free throw with seven seconds left in regulation. Gardner and Jordan Glynn added 12 points each.

Tony Bishop had 23 points and 13 rebounds, and Ryan White added 19 points and nine assists for the Bobcats (13-13, 8-4), whose five-game winning streak ended.

Texas State’s lead in the conference’s West Division shrunk to a game over Stephen F. Austin, Sam Houston State and Texas-Arlington, all winners on Saturday.
