RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP) — Allen Huddleston scored 22 points and made five 3-pointers to lead Pacific to a 57-51 victory against UC Riverside on Thursday night.
Sam Willard added 17 points for the Tigers (16-11, 8-5 Big West), who moved within a half-game of Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo for second place in the conference standings.
Phil Martin had 15 points for the Highlanders (9-17, 4-9), who shot just 35.7 percent (20 for 56) from the floor.
Javon Borum’s 3-pointer with 4:53 remaining got Riverside within 54-49, but neither team scored until Pat Eveland’s shot from beyond the arc restored Pacific’s eight-point lead with 1:05 to play. The Highlanders shot 1 for 9 and committed three turnovers down the stretch.
Eveland had seven points and 10 rebounds.
