Lipscomb defeats Kennesaw State 82-67

KENNESAW, Ga. (AP) — Jordan Burgason scored 21 points and Adnan Hodzic contributed a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds as Lipscomb defeated Kennesaw State 82-67 on Thursday night.

Josh Slater added 17 points for Lipscomb (17-11, 12-7 Atlantic Sun Conference), which sent the Owls (8-21, 6-13) to their fourth consecutive defeat.

The Bison led 41-37 at halftime and expanded the lead to 10 points when Jordan Glenn scored on a layup with 9:04 left to make it 66-56.

The Owls came as close as six points, with Spencer Dixon’s 3-pointer cutting Lipscomb’s lead to 73-67 with 2:23 left. But that was Kennesaw State’s last basket and the Bison put the game away with a dunk, a 3-pointer and four free throws.

Dixon led Kennesaw State with 17 points and Markeith Cummings added 15 points and 10 rebounds. Kelvin McConnell and Artie Marine each had 12 points.
