UC Irvine beats Pacific 97-86 in double OT

IRVINE, Calif. (AP) — Eric Wise had 25 points and 12 rebounds and UC Irvine defeated Pacific 97-86 in double overtime on Saturday night.

The Anteaters (13-17, 6-9 Big West) also won in double overtime on Thursday night against UC Davis. Saturday’s victory assured UC Irvine of a spot in the Big West conference tournament.

Darren Moore had five points in the second overtime, when the Anteaters outscored Pacific 15-4. Moore finished with 21 points and Daman Starring and Mike Wilder scored 15 points each.

Terrell Smith led Pacific (16-12, 8-6) with 23 points. Demetrece Young had 16 points and Sam Willard had 12 points and 14 rebounds.

Allen Huddleston, who scored 13 points for the Tigers, made three free throws with 1.2 seconds left in regulation to tie it at 77. His 3-pointer, his only basket of the game, with 4.4 seconds left in the first overtime made it 82-all.
