JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. (AP) — The Army has scheduled a court martial Tuesday at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington state for a soldier accused of misconduct in Afghanistan.

Spc. Corey Moore of Redondo Beach, Calif., is accused of drug use and beating a soldier who was a witness in a drug investigation. He’s also accused of stabbing a corpse a platoon found while investigating a helicopter strike.

Moore is one of a dozen 5th Stryker Brigade soldiers accused of crimes in Afghanistan. Five are charged with murder in the deaths of three Afghan civilians.

If convicted, Moore could be sentenced to more than 11 years in prison.
