JUPITER, Fla. (AP) — Marlins outfielder Mike Stanton is feeling better, and Florida plans to reevaluate his strained right quadriceps by Thursday.
Stanton was hurt Sunday in Florida’s exhibition opener, pulling up while running out a ground ball.
He was receiving treatment Monday before the Marlins played St. Louis, and manager Edwin Gonzalez says more will be known about his projected opening-day cleanup hitter’s condition in two or three days.
Stanton hit a two-run homer Sunday in his first appearance of spring training, then strained the leg muscle in his second at-bat.
