Coastal Carolina pulls away from High Point 78-60

CONWAY, S.C. (AP) — Desmond Holloway scored 21 points, and Chad Gray added 19 and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Coastal Carolina to its 10th straight victory, 78-60 over High Point on Sunday.

The Chanticleers (12-2, 3-0 Big South Conference) scored the final eight points of the opening half, taking a 35-27 advantage into the break.

Mike Holmes scored 16 and pulled down nine rebounds for Coastal Carolina, while Kierre Greenwood added 13 points.

The Panthers (5-7, 2-2) trailed 66-56 with 6:22 to play and were outscored 12-4 the rest of way en route to their fourth consecutive loss.

Du’Vaughn Maxwell led High Point with 14 points, Shay Shine added 12 and Tehran Cox 10.

The Chanticleers posted a 42-33 rebounding edge and pulled out the win despite being outscored 44-40 in the paint, 14-7 on points off turnovers and 19-12 on second-chance points.
