EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — Mark Sanchez’s day was done after one series and no passes.

The New York Jets quarterback, dealing with a sore right shoulder, started against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday but handed off nine times, including one called back for a penalty, on a drive capped by Nick Folk’s 28-yard field goal.

Mark Brunell replaced Sanchez to start the Jets’ second offensive series.

Coach Rex Ryan said during the week Sanchez would start so he could continue to maintain the rhythm he had the last few weeks, but would likely not play long since the Jets (10-5) already clinched a playoff spot.

Running backs LaDainian Tomlinson and Shonn Greene, and cornerbacks Darrelle Revis and Antonio Cromartie were inactive for the game that took on a preseason feel.
