BALTIMORE (AP) — Authorities say a package they investigated at a state office complex in Baltimore turned out to a box of laptop batteries.

Baltimore police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi (guh-lee-EHL’-mee) says the package posed no danger.

Two packages with incendiary devices inside were sent to state office buildings earlier Thursday. One of them was addressed to Gov. Martin O’Malley. They ignited and emitted smoke and a sulfur smell when they were opened, slightly burning the fingers of two employees but not seriously injuring anyone.

Authorities checked out a report of another package at a courthouse in downtown Baltimore, but that turned out to be printer toner.
