LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles Dodgers owner Frank McCourt is expressing condolences about the 9-year-old girl killed by a gunman who opened fire at an Arizona congresswoman’s event. She is the granddaughter of former Philadelphia Phillies manager Dallas Green and the son of a Dodgers scout.

Christina-Taylor Green was shot outside a Tucson grocery story when she went to see Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, who was meeting with constituents there.

McCourt says the team lost a member of the Dodgers family, and the organization will do everything it can to support scout John Green, his wife Roxana and their son Dallas. McCourt called the shootings “a senseless tragedy” and says he has spoken to John Green.
