ROME (AP) — Celebrations for Lazio’s 111th anniversary have turned violent, with fans clashing with police and at least one supporter arrested.

The ANSA news agency reports that about 100 fans with their faces covered lit trash bins on fire, broke windows of several banks and launched fireworks following Saturday night’s festivities in a downtown piazza.

ANSA said police used tear gas to restore order and some 20 police officers were injured.

Police said in a statement Sunday that a 31-year-old Lazio fan was arrested.
