SEATTLE (AP) — Burlington Northern Santa Fe has restored freight train and Amtrak service between Seattle and Vancouver, British Columbia.

A spokesman, Gus Melonas, says trains are rolling again Monday, after service was halted over the weekend by slides hitting the track near Surrey, B.C.

Melonas says a railroad geotechnical team remains in the area checking on slope stability.

Twelve freight and passengers trains a day travel between Vancouver, B.C., and Seattle.
