NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Bryson Pope scored 16 points to lead five Tulsa players in double figures in a 65-61 Conference USA victory over Tulane on Saturday.
Pope got 10 of his points in the first half, when the Golden Hurricane (10-9, 3-2) took a 34-25 lead.
The Green Wave (12-6, 2-3) led for just 2 seconds in the first half and never in the second, but they cut Tulsa’s lead to 59-58 with 53 seconds remaining on a 3-pointer by Kris Richard.
Pope, Jordan Clarkson and Justin Hurtt each hit two free throws in the final 36 seconds to secure Tulsa’s victory.
