WASHINGTON (AP) — The Pittsburgh Pirates placed Ronny Cedeno on the 7-day concussion disabled list before the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader with the Nationals.

The Pirates have not announced how Cedeno was hurt.

Cedeno, who extended his hitting streak to 10 games in Friday’s loss to Washington, was replaced on the roster by infielder Pedro Ciriaco, who was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis.

Cedeno was batting .252 with two home runs and 23 RBIs in 79 games.

In six games with Pittsburgh this season, Ciriaco is hitless in six at-bats. He’s batting .210 in 40 games with Indianapolis.

It won’t be the last roster move of the day for the Pirates. They’ll recall right-handed pitcher Brad Lincoln to start the second game of the doubleheader.
