GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — The Phoenix Coyotes have signed defenseman Tyler Eckford to a one-year contract.

The Coyotes did not disclose financial terms Monday.

Eckford played four games with the New Jersey Devils and 37 games with the Albany Devils last season. He had two goals and 10 points in 12 games and 12 penalty minutes.

In 2009-2010, the 25-year-old player from Vancouver, British Columbia, set career highs with eight goals and 31 points with Lowell.

Eckford was originally selected by New Jersey in the seventh round in the 2004 entry draft.
