Letter: Let’s make country a better place

Republicans are hard at work trying to destroy America. If you do not believe it, look at every dollar that George W. Bush and the Republicans have given out in tax cuts to the rich. Republicans hate American workers. If they did not, why do they block passage of bills that try to protect workers and/or their jobs? They allow things imported from countries that pollute the air, land and water and use child or forced labor.

Let’s pay off the national debt. No tax cuts and deductions of any kind until the debt is paid off.

As an inmate at a Washington state correctional facility, I also think we should have a fair three-strikes law. Have only three set sentences: five years, 15 years or life, with sentencing coming only after one is found guilty by a jury. Let’s also only have one prison for each circuit court. It could save us tax money and would treat inmates better. The inmates could grow a lot of their food and make the things they need. There’s so much we could do to make this a better country, so why not at least try?
