SEATTLE (AP) — Authorities say a man shot by a Snohomish County sheriff’s deputy near Bothell has died.

Authorities say the man was shot after a disturbance call at a home Sunday.

Everett Sgt. Robert Goetz says the man was in his 20s and was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where he died.

Goetz says the deputy is 44 years old and has been with sheriff’s office for more than two decades. He says the deputy will be placed on administrative leave, as is routine in such incidents.

Goetz says officers entered the home after family members called 911. He says there is a history of disturbances and domestic violence calls there.

The shooting is under investigation.

The names of the deputy and the deceased were not immediately released.
