EVERETT, Wash. (AP) — A Superior Court judge has given a former Granite Falls, Wash., mayor a three-month sentence on his conviction for dealing marijuana. Judge Richard Okrent said Thursday that Floyd “Butch” DeRosia can serve the sentence on work release.

DeRosia was among more than a dozen people arrested last year as part of a two-year investigation into drug trafficking in Granite Falls. He was convicted of two counts of delivery of a controlled substance.

The Daily Herald says DeRosia served as mayor for two years until resigning in 2003 amid harassment allegations.
