Ex-DePaul center transferring to Oklahoma Baptist

SHAWNEE, Okla. (AP) — Former DePaul center Kene Obi is transferring to Oklahoma Baptist to play his final season of college basketball.

Bison coach Doug Tolin announced Obi’s transfer on Tuesday. The 7-foot-1, 275-pound Obi will have one season of eligibility at Oklahoma Baptist, which plays in the NAIA’s Sooner Athletic Conference.

Obi is from Enugu, Nigeria, and spent three seasons at DePaul. He redshirted during the 2007-08 season and played in 18 games the following season, averaging 1.7 points and 1.3 rebounds per game in 18 appearances.

During the 2009-10 season, Obi played in five games for the Blue Demons, scoring one point and grabbing six rebounds.
