DAVIE, Fla. (AP) — A person familiar with the decision says veteran linebacker Channing Crowder has been cut by the Miami Dolphins.
The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Friday because the Dolphins hadn’t announced the move.
Crowder had been a starter for Miami since his rookie season in 2005, but he drew criticism for failing to make more big plays. In the past three seasons he had a total of one fumble forced, one fumble recovered, one interception and one sack.
Last season Crowder had 33 tackles in 11 games, and he missed five games with injuries.
