GOODWOOD, England (AP) — Midday underlined her star status by winning a third straight Nassau Stakes at Goodwood, finishing two lengths ahead of Snow Fairy on Saturday.

Jockey Tom Queally bided his time before unleashing Midday, the 6-4 favorite, at the two-furlong marker to cruise to her sixth Group One victory.

“She’s the Queen of Goodwood,” Queally said of Midday, who became the first filly to win the race three times. “She’s very special.”

It was the eighth time trainer Henry Cecil has won the Nassau Stakes, with Midday’s victory earning her stable $170,000.

Snow Fairy, the 5-2 shot ridden by Frankie Dettori, finished ahead of third-place Principal Role in the one mile and two furlong race.
