MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) — A man deported to Mexico four times has been sentenced to more than seven years in prison after being convicted on drug and gun charges.

The Mail Tribune reports that 32-year-old Juan Villafana-Gomez kept returning to southern Oregon to commit crimes after being deported.

Klamath County authorities turned the case over to federal prosecutors in Medford after Villafana-Gomez had returned to Klamath Falls despite being deported for assaulting the same woman three times.

An Oregon State Police trooper spotted him in the area last year, and he was arrested by a Klamath County sheriff’s detective. Police searched his car and house and found methamphetamine, marijuana and several guns, including two assault rifles.
