OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — Denny Heck lost a bid for Congress last fall in the 3rd District in southwest Washington to Republican Jaime Herrera Beutler of Camas. Now he is running again, but he’s not sure of the district.

The Olympian reports Heck filed papers last month with the Federal Election Commission to begin collecting funds for a campaign in a district to be named later.

The State Redistricting Commission is working to carve out a new 10th District in Washington for the 2012 election. Boundary changes could leave the Olympia Democrat in one of three or four districts.

Heck was the chief of staff for Gov. Booth Gardner, served as a state legislator and co-founded the TVW public affairs network.
