LIBERTY, Texas (AP) — A sheriff’s spokesman says authorities have asked for a search warrant after receiving an anonymous tip that multiple dismembered bodies are buried at a rural southeast Texas home.

Liberty County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Rex Evans tells The Associated Press that the office received a report Tuesday that there were bodies in the home about 70 miles northeast of Houston. Evans says deputies went to the house and determined a search warrant was needed.

FBI spokeswoman Kim Barkhausen in Houston tells AP that the agency has been asked to assist in an investigation. She declined to discuss details of the anonymous tip or the search.
