NEW YORK (AP) — Steve Mullings held off training partner Tyson Gay to win the 100 meters at the Adidas Grand Prix on Saturday.

After three false starts trimmed the field from nine to six, Jamaica’s Mullings won in 10.26 seconds into a stiff wind in a photo finish. Gay was slow out of the blocks but nearly ran down Mullings. The American also posted a time of 10.26.

Earlier, three-time world champion Allyson Felix won the 200 meters in 22.92 seconds.

Felix led an American sweep of the top four spots. Reigning Olympic and world 100-meter champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce struggled to last place while trying out the longer race she once hated.

Bianca Knight was second and Shalonda Solomon third.
