Buchholz leaves start due to back tightness

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — Boston Red Sox right-hander Clay Buchholz has left his start after experiencing lower back tightness.

Buchholz departed after allowing one run and two hits over five innings Thursday night against Tampa Bay. He threw 81 pitches.

Also, Red Sox shortstop Jed Lowrie left the game after striking out in the first inning because of a left shoulder injury.
