OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — This year’s U.S. national softball team won’t feature a single player with Olympic experience.

Once loaded with players who had won Olympic gold, the new-look roster has just three players who have been on the national team before. Outfielder Kaitlin Cochran, catcher Ashley Holcombe and infielder Jenae Leles were all rookies on the national team last year.

The newcomers include Brittany Schutte and Michelle Moultrie from Women’s College World Series runner-up Florida and Rhea Taylor and Chelsea Thomas from Missouri, which made it to the WCWS the past three years.

Others to make the roster Friday include Megan Langenfeld from 2010 NCAA champion UCLA, Oklahoma ace Keilani Ricketts and Baylor lefty Whitney Canion.

Former Olympic gold medalists Tairia Flowers and Stacey Nuveman will join new head coach Ken Eriksen’s staff.
