YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) — A man arrested for investigation of his role in a fatal Yakima shooting is the victim’s cousin.

Police say it’s only a coincidence and that the 21-year-old, Ivan Izazaga, didn’t know his cousin, Yecenia Guerrero, was in the car targeted for a shooting.

The Yakima Herald-Republic reports the 24-year-old teacher’s assistant was out with two friends June 12 when their car was mistakenly identified — by Izazaga — as a car carrying someone with whom he had been fighting.
